Need I have to say how totally “out of sorts” the world is today? Millions of people sick with a deadly virus, also known as a pestilence, the coronavirus has devastated the world, as we know it. Some people would say, “Well we are following the guidelines, and direction given by the authorities, and soon this “PANDEMIC” will pass, and things will return to normal.” Really? What is normal? I am here to inform you that the normal that we used to know, will not return for months, maybe even years. When this does calm down, do you really think that people are going to just go out, and start doing all the things they did before the virus? I don’t think so, I know that when I go to a restaurant to eat, I will feel uncomfortable being in the open with people I have not known, or been around before. I figure wearing a mask may be the norm, hand sanitizer in vast quantities all around. Go to a steak house, and there it is, the sanitizer sitting next to the steak sauce, unbelievable. In Matthew 24: 7-8 it simple says this, and I have said and posted this many times in the past.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and PESTILENCES, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Now the above scripture is from the King James Version, many newer, English translations have omitted the word pestilence. The last sentence should be the verse that grasp the reader, the word sorrows, is related in this text to birth pains of a woman giving birth, as she gets closer to giving birth the pains come quicker, and harder. So, many theologians realize that in this verse we understand, “that as the day of Jesus’s return approaches,” we will have, in this case, more pestilences, and they will be harder felt, also famines, earthquakes, and the like will also be more often, and more devastating. So according to God’s word things are only to get worse, so where is the norm? God said in Second Chronicles 7: 13. “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
I personally believe that while it is true, God can indeed heal the land, and His people, and that He is indeed compassionate, and long suffering, but you must remember that God is Holy, Holy, Holy, and is a loving God that also loves justice. So the justice for a sinful, un-repenting world is simply JUDGMENT! The bible is full of stories of how God judged His people, Israel, in the ancient days, because they would not repent, and humble themselves, and call upon His name. Now we know that God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Other words, He never changes. So, if He is judgmental then due to sin, then He is judgmental today for the same sin. In the book of Jeremiah God tells Jeremiah how Israel had sinned, and would not seek forgiveness. God said that it was too late for that now, He determined that Israel would go into captivity. He raised up Babylon, and Assyria, to conquer Israel, and put many to death with the sword, they were starved out, no water, and the nation was under siege. God has an invisible line of tolerance, and when you or we cross that line, God places judgment. We have shook our fist in the face of God for decades, people do not read, and heed His holy word. The last book of the bible tells the story right till the end of time, and God, and all His children win! Sin will never overcome God’s Amazing Grace.
